La coreografía nos habla de los más remotos orígenes de la vida.
Está planteada en tres momentos: el desarrollo de una célula hasta alcanzar su
conciencia; la lucha por crecer y el encuentro de nuevos horizontes que la llevan a
comenzar una nueva búsqueda.
Este desarrollo ocurre en lo profundo de la mar, el movimiento surge y tiene su justificación
en la sensación abismal de la negrura, a través de la cual poco a poco se abre paso la luz.
Para lograr dichas atmósferas, resulta fundamental el marco sonoro proporcionado por
cinco piezas de Debussy. De las cuales, “La Catedral Sumergida” fue el motivo principal.
La temática de la obra es de carácter abstracto, basada en la oposición del contraste
del movimiento corporal en relación con la música donde se genera un diálogo de tensiones dramáticas, imágenes que remiten a la vida marina.
“La Catedral Sumergida” espectáculo dancístico unipersonal creado e interpretado por
Ángeles Díaz, estreno en julio de 2005 en la Sala Chica del Teatro del Estado, Xalapa,
Veracruz, y ha tenido una gran aceptación por parte del público y la prensa.

The choreography talks about the most remote origins of life.
It is situated in three moments: from the development of a cell until it reaches
consciousness; the struggle to grow and the encounter of new horizons that leads it to the
beginning of a new quest.
This development occurs in the depths of the sea, the movement emerges and has its
justification in the abysmal feeling of darkness, in which light slowly brakes through. In
order to create these atmospheres, the sound frame of five of Debussy’s pieces is
fundamental, of which the Sunken Catedral was the principal motive.
The thematic one of the work is of abstract character, cradle in the opposition of the
resistance of the corporal movement in relation to music where a dialogue of dramatic
tensions is generated.
"La Catedral Sumergida", unipersonal dance spectacle created and interpreted by Ángeles Díaz was opened in July 2005 in the small hall of the State theater, in Xalapa, Veracruz, México, and it has had a good acceptance on the part of the public.
